Amar Bail is Urdu for an eternal vine. It also refers to an actual evergreen vine in the mistletoe family that’s impossible to stop from growing.
In the context of this blog, Amar Bail symbolizes life and resilience. It offers some personal reflections and essays on my own life as an immigrant, as well as stories of far less ordinary lives that I told during my time as a student of journalism. These stories feature the politics of immigration, questions around identity and religion, and civil rights in the places I’ve called home.
